"The Order of St John...during the magistry of Grand Master Raymond Despuig (1736-1741) furnished its Conventual church with an Apostolato of 15 silver statues....About two decades ago, the name of the silversmith who executed the Apostolato was discovered and published, this being Antonio Arrighi. In 2007, the statues were restored to an excellent standard by Sante Guido and Giuseppe Mantella, with the support of Maltese foundations. This valuable book gives the whole history of the oeuvre, from its commissioning in the eighteenth century to the present day, together with a description of its artistic value.
