Pachypappa tremulae (L.), an aphid of the subfamily Pemphiginae, carries out part of its life cycle on aspen branches and continues it on roots of spruce or other resinous varieties such as pine and larch. The aphid has rarely been observed on conifer roots in the natural environment, but has been frequently reported on the roots of containerized seedlings in nurseries. This literature review presents information on its taxonomic position, distribution and hosts, morphological description, biological cycle, damage and control.
