McKella Lucas is a cowgirl on a mission to solve a decades old mystery surrounding her ranch. She has been injured on the rodeo circuit, putting her roping career on hold until her leg can heal, so why not poke around in some mysterious old artifacts left in the old farmhouse? When she discovers one of the previous residents is the victim of an unsolved murder she is drawn even more deeply into the girl's life. It isn't until she finds a mysterious treasure box on the ranch that pieces start to fall into place. Colin O'Grady has learned to occupy himself with something besides rodeo now that his own career has been cut short and he wants to show McKella that there is more to life than roping. He is hesitant to get involved in the mystery surrounding her ranch, but when she won't be swayed, he is determined to protect her. There is someone who doesn't want her to know everything, though, and if she doesn't find out who it is her very life may be in danger.
