📖 The Scoop
The objective of this workshop was to review and assess available modelling approaches for estimating the impact of biological oxygen demand and nutrient loadings on the water quality of the Peace and Athabasca River systems. After providing background information for the workshop context and reviewing research needs with regard to water quality models, this document reviews the hydrology and industrial or municipal development in the Peace/Athabasca basin and summarizes water quality modelling efforts undertaken within the basin. It then examines four water quality models (DOSTOC, NUSTOC, WASP4, and DSSAMt) as well as pattern recognition techniques for water quality modelling. The document concludes with a summary of the recommendations proposed for water quality modelling.
Genre: Science / Environmental Science (fancy, right?)
