There are three parts to habit formation. These include the cue, which triggers a habit loop, which is a certain routine for execution, and feedback, or a reward, which then tells to brain that it needs to repeat certain events in order to achieve this reward and/or to get this feedback.
Also, the author says that habits can be changed but that even though a habit can be changed, no habit can be erased completely.
