📖 The Scoop
Canadian Art is the complete catalogue of art of Canadian origin acquired by the National Gallery of Canada from its founding in 1880 to 1980--more than 6,700 objects in all. This fully illustrated second volume of the series covers 197 artists and over 1,710 paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, decorative art objects, and video works.
The sections are organized alaphabetically by artist from Pierre Gaboriau to William Kurelek. Entries are arranged chronologically by work and each includes a concise biography, accession number, title in English and French, inscriptions, provenance, former titles and attributions, and references to related works. Reproductions of the works accompany the entries and a numerical index by accession number makes locating a work a quick and easy task.
Genre: Art / History / General (fancy, right?)
