The intent of the project was to quickly measure air qualityconditions in the homes to ascertain if any problems existed.Measurements of the common contaminants, carbon monoxide, carbondioxide, oxides of nitrogen, radon and its daughter products, andformaldehyde, were undertaken in each home. Averageconcentration of these contaminants in the air was measured.Additional work was carried out to measure the air exchangerates, the relative humidity and temperature and to ascertain theoperation of combustion appliances in the various homes. Attemptswere also made to gather information on the lifestyle of theresidents to ascertain if this affected the indoor air quality.
