This work is the biography of a major British printer whose composing room pioneered the introduction of 19th-century English revival types into Britain during the 1930s. The Kynoch Press, which flourished for over a century, was the in-house printer to the huge ICI group. In addition to its ICI commercial printing, the press also produced high-quality printing for a range of other customers. This fine craftmanship printing earned The Kynoch Press a reputation as one of the foremost British printing houses of that time. The half-century history of The Kynoch Press from 1930-1980 that Dr. Caroline Archer describes is the result of exhaustive research combined and enriched with personal accounts from surviving staff.
