📖 The Scoop
This work is the biography of a major British printer whose composing room pioneered the introduction of 19th-century English revival types into Britain during the 1930s. The Kynoch Press, which flourished for over a century, was the in-house printer to the huge ICI group. In addition to its ICI commercial printing, the press also produced high-quality printing for a range of other customers. This fine craftmanship printing earned The Kynoch Press a reputation as one of the foremost British printing houses of that time. The half-century history of The Kynoch Press from 1930-1980 that Dr. Caroline Archer describes is the result of exhaustive research combined and enriched with personal accounts from surviving staff. This book also contains very detailed listings of the types held by the press at every period. Co-published with The British Library. One of the foremost British printing houses of the period
