📖 The Scoop

As any good builder knows, strong foundations are vital to any construction. God, himself, as a 'builder' (Psalm 127:1, Matthew 16:18, Hebrews 11:10), understood this only too well and took the time to give us a parable about the wise and foolish builders in Matthew 7:24-29. In this story we notice some similarities between the two labourers. They both:- Built something,- Used materials;- Experienced a storm;- Chose a foundation.However, one succeeded and one failed...the difference was in the foundations they decided on. Today, as followers of Christ, we can either build our lives on 'solid rock' or we can build on 'sand'. The choice is ours! As members of his Church, through faith, we are to build our lives on the ways and words of Christ as the cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20) and on both acknowledging and acting on sound teaching from Scripture (Hebrews 6:1-2). May this short book help us all to build on such firm foundations so that we may withstand the storms of life. I am told by experts that the deeper the foundation, the higher the building. May we dig deep and be 'spiritual skyscrapers!'
