📖 The Scoop
This study uses data from the National Graduates Surveys to investigate empirically the post-graduation earnings growth of bachelor level university graduates in Canada for the Survey graduate cohorts of 1982, 1986, and 1990. It formulates and estimates empirical log-earnings growth equations that relate the change in graduates' log-earnings between the second & fifth graduation years to two sets of observed covariates: time-invariant baseline characteristics of graduates and their degree programs; and time-varying current characteristics of graduates and their jobs. The following questions are examined: the factors related to graduates' earnings growth in general; differences in earnings growth effects of baseline & current characteristics between male & female graduates; changes in these relationships across successive cohorts; and the specific role of field of study in these dynamics.
Genre: Business & Economics / Labor / Wages & Compensation (fancy, right?)
