📖 The Scoop
The Dept. was established in 1999 with the amalgamation of the depts. of Urban Affairs and Rural Development. Its mission is to facilitate improvements in the economic, social, and environmental well-being of Manitoba communities and citizens. Departmental functions include community & land use planning services, provincial-municipal support services, and economic & community development services. This document has been prepared as a supplement to the main estimates, and its purpose is to provide background information about departmental activities & functions and to link this information to financial requirements. The first section provides an overview of the dept.'s budget requirements for the year. The second section displays financial details accompanied by explanations which tie program activity to staffing needs & operating expenditures. This section is organized by main appropriations to provide an easy cross-reference to the main estimates. The final section supplies comparative historical information. Includes glossary.
