These NorthStar Listening and Speaking DVDs provide an integrated approach, in five levels, to motivating students to succeed in their academic as well as personal language goals. A structured approach gives students opportunities for more extended and creative oral practice, such as in presentations, simulations, debates, speeches, public service announcements and more. Each DVD contains 10 video segments, including segments from ABC News, featuring topics correlated to the themes in the NorthStar Student Books. The DVD Guides contain unit-by-unit video scripts, as well as vocabulary for comprehension and background notes to enhance the accessibility and enjoyment of the video material. Each of the video segments on these DVDs has a corresponding Video Activity that is designed for students to use in class before, during, and after viewing the video. The activities can be downloaded from the NorthStar jCompanion Website at www.longman.com/northstar and can be found in MyNorthStarLab. Each DVD approximately 30 min. long.
