📖 The Scoop

Literature review, pedestrian survey to determine the number and types of historic properties present, their areal and temporal extent, and preliminary information concerning their cultural and scientific importance with respect to inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Specific tasks accomplished include preparation of research design, a records and literature review, an intensive on the ground survey of selected areas at Fort Leavenworth totaling approximately 974 acres; the excavation of test units at sites 14LV357 and 14LV358 to recover information to be used in the evaluation of the two sites for NRHP eligibility; site documentation (i.e. maps, site survey forms, etc.); preparation of cultural materials for curation; and preparing a report of findings in accordance with the Scope of Work.
