Jenny Davis doesn't believe the Lord loves her. How else to explain her family massacred in front of her, a guardian who traded her to a saloon owner for a supply of whiskey after she had beaten him off, or singing in the saloon, hoping that her beautiful voice brought in enough business so that she wouldn't be forced to do other things? How about the fact that some people in town never let her forget that she worked in a saloon? As far as she's concerned, the only good thing that's happened to her is being rescued by Elizabeth O'Roake, her best friend and employer, and her husband Michael. Jenny's whole outlook is in for a serious readjustment after meeting Andrew Garrett, a tough, straight-dealing mining company representative. Intending to stand on her own feet, she moves to Tucson and opens her own business in partnership with Andrew and Evan Townsend, who would like to be more than partners. Unfortunately, Jenny and Andrew have both made more than few enemies who would like nothing more than to make sure they fail.
