Tadworth, Surrey, 1976 - the long, hot, summer. With rising temperatures the countryside slowly scorches, reservoirs dry out and roads melt. For three 14 year old boys, Graham, Danny and Gary, their Chopper bikes at the ready, adventure beckons. Forget 'Health and Safety' - whether blowing up the chemistry lab, driving a Chieftan tank or tracing secret wartime tunnels, their antics are sometimes shocking, occasionally unbelievable, but always entertaining. As England copes with stand pipes, the scorching weather encourages the lads to venture further afield - from pitched battles on Brighton Beach, to the dubious underground scene in London, the characters they meet are colourful and the lessons they learn sometimes hard.Naturally seething hormones are the cause of many of their problems, the local girls show scathing distain, but the boys are undeterred. Streaking past Miss Pink Capri was possibly not one of their better ideas, dressing as Bunny Girls for a party was understandable, accepting a lift from an amorous policeman probably wasn't!But they never give up. Bikes, Bombs and Bunny Girls, is a hilarious reminder of the painful business of growing up, the joys of having good mates, and the troubles they can get you into.
