Sequence Dependent Scheduling to Minimize the Number of Late Jobs

by Centre for Research on Transportation (Montréal, Québec) , Gilbert Laporte , Marius M. Solomon , Michel Gendreau

📖 The Scoop

This paper considers a job scheduling problem on a single processor which will minimize the number of jobs completed after the deadline. The problem can also be viewed in a vehicle routing context. An integer linear programming formulation is proposed, and the problem is solved by means of a specialized enumerative algorithm. Computational results are presented for problems involving up to 100 jobs.
