ThePKCseriesofconferences yearlyrepresentsinternationalresearchandthelatestachievementsinthearea ofpublickeycryptography, coveringawidespectrumoftopics, fromcryptos- temstoprotocols, implementationtechniquesorcryptanalysis. Afterbeingheld infoursuccessiveyearsinpaci?c-asiancountries, PKC2002experiencedforthe ?rsttimeaEuropeanlocation, thusshowingitsabilitytoreachaneverwider audiencefromboththeindustrialcommunityandacademia. Weareverygratefultothe19membersoftheProgramCommitteefortheir hardande?cientworkinproducingsuchahighqualityprogram.
