📖 The Scoop
"After a series of grave robberies in the 1920's goes unsolved, reporter Michael Jacobs follows a new thread. His investigation leads him to a small town in the suburbs of Chicago named Elk Hills. While there, Michael is able to gather more information than the police did regarding the grave robberies. With each interview Michael conducts, he gets nearer to the truth. Eventually, Michael gets too close and finds himself part of the story he is looking to write. At the same time, wealthy businessman Edmund Creighton organizes a group of equally wealthy families and individuals in the Chicago area to finance illegal experiments in the basement of his mansion. They call their group the Elk Hills Research Society. These experiments require the presence of recently dead bodies, which members of the Society are more than happy to collect from the local cemeteries. By the time the Society's dark secrets are uncovered, it maybe too late for the truth to make a difference"-- back cover.
