From January 1 to December 31, each day of the year is an anniversary of some event in the past. This volume presents the important moments in American history, day by day. Each day includes a complete listing of important happenings in or related to America that took place on that date, from the arrival of the first explorers up through the 1990s. Also included are events related to future American history, such as the birth of Amerigo Vespucci in 1454. Readers can look under any day of the year and see hundreds of years' worth of the American past.
