Whiz, the Teenage Scientist, Amazing Journey in His Space-Time Elevator: In Pursuit of Precious:

Whiz is a teenage scientist as well as being an eighteen-year-old College student in his second-year of College - while in the year below there is a young lady - actually she is sixteen years old - whose name is Precious; who he is realises he is more than infatuated with; but the problem, for her, not for Whiz, is that she refuses to go out with Whizz, sighting their two-year age-gap! So Whiz is so adamant about his undying love for her, he is convinced he has found a way in science to bridge that age-gap by building his own space-time-elevator he calls Quantumvator - which is actually a quantum-elevator which doesn't just go up and down but can go in any direction; and most excitingly, it can compete with the speed of light!

Which is the main reason he built it to apply one of the the Laws of Special Relativity which is called Time-Dilation; which means when he can reach at least 86% the speed of light, then his time on Quantumvator can proceed at half its normal rate which is the time that Precious' time on Earth proceeds.
